Front end loader control is stuck.
Just remove the valve lever or cable. Remove the end cap. Remove the float assemble and spring centering assembly, and then remove the spool and check inside the spool housing and spool for damage. With all the parts off of the spool, it should just slide freely in the spool bore. The detent is inside the end cap.

An 8N is a bear to steer without a front-end loader. It's also very light in the rear end. You get a full bucket on the front and it's gonna be nearly impossible to steer. You'll also need a lot of weight on the back to keep the rear wheels on the ground. I would never put a loader on anything that doesn't have 4WD and power steering.

Need Advice on FEL Valve Replacement
An FEL loader control valve isn't a stack style and trying to do that (separate levers) would drive you nuts. If the valve needs to be replaced just find one that will flow at least 8-10 gpm. Getting the factory valve will, no doubt cost more but you won't be fabing brackets and possibly adapting hydraulic fittings.

Thanks. the seal on the end cap is fairly easy to replace if the cap will slide off the shaft. If you have to take the cylinder apart, and take the packing off the piston to slide the cap off that end it is quite a job. The seals on the cylinder piston are called packing. At least that is what we call them. They are quite a pain.
