In June 2014 Gebr Pfeiffer received an order from Oyak's Bolu Çimento for an 85t/hr MPS 4500 BC mill to grind granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) at its Bolu plant. The GBFS will be ground to a product fineness of 4500 - 4750cm²/g. Gebr Pfeiffer's scope includes the core components of the mill and classifier as well as the mill gearbox.
Today, blast furnace slag usage in the cement industry is known as slag cement. This term usually refers to either combinations of Portland cement and ground slag or to the ground slag alone. Within the current European cement standards, 14 listed cements may contain slag in different percentages by cement mass [8] .
GGBS is obtained by quenching molten iron blast furnace slag (a by-product of iron and steel making) in water or steam. It is then further grounded into the desired fineness in terms of the required particle size distribution. The main components of blast furnace slag are CaO (30-50%), SiO2 (28-38%), Al2O3 (8-24%), and MgO (1-18%).
pregrinding of granulated blast furnace slag. In combination with the invention of the static V-separator a few years later, the company cleared the way for the worldwide expansion of RP technology as a grinding unit. Raw material and slag grinding In the beginning the RP was used only in combined mode with either a ball mill or
This results in GBFS, granulated blast furnace slag. The granules are similar in size and appearance to beach sand. GBFS is a non-metallic product, which is similar in composition to Portland cement clinker. After granulation, the material is transported to Skyway Cement Company's plant to be ground into Skyway Cement. Grinding
South Wales plant wins UK prize and comes third overall in HeidelbergCement TEAM area awards. Blast furnace slag cement is the mixture of ordinary Portland cement and fine granulated blast furnace slag obtained as a by product in the manufacture of steel with percent under 70% to that of cement. Ground granulated blast furnace slag cement (GGBFS) is a fine glassy granules which contain cementatious properties.
It is widely used in clinker grinding production of cement plant and slag grinding plant. CHAENG can provide various types of vertical cement mills with productivity of 50-250t/h. The biggest advantage of CHAENG is to have a large casting base and large machining workshops, which greatly shortens the delivery cycle of cement vertical mill.
Cements containing blast furnace slags such as CEM III cements are increasingly used in both precast and ready-mixed concrete to improve the environmental footprint. However, the replacement of clinker by slag at a content varying between 35 and 95 wt% leads to a significant slow-down of cement hydration and consequently to a loss of early […]
LOESCHE is able to benefit from the growth in the Turkish cement industry. LOESCHE is contributing four of its highly-modern vertical roller mills to the new cement plant of the German technology firm AUNDE in the Turkish region of Soma: one mill for grinding up to 350 tonnes of raw material per hour for cement manufacture, one mill for grinding up to 30 …

The blast-furnace process is being continuously optimised to achieve higher efficiencies and quality, by means, for example, of extremely high coal-injection rates. Sustainability is also of great importance, however, and by-product gases are converted to electrical energy in a blast-furnace gas power plant located at Dillingen.
Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) was employed as the main component of an alternative binder. Ground agricultural gypsum and construction-grade hydrated lime were used as activators in the proportions of 0.88:0.10:0.02 (GGBS:gypsum:lime) by mass as previously discussed (Oliveira et al., 1999).Sisal (Agave sisalana) field by-product was selected from a …
Superfine powder ground granulated blast furnace slag ggbfs price Blast furnace slag powder is widely used in cement and concrete; it can reduce the hydration heat of concrete, increase the later strength, and improve the microstructure of concrete, reinforcement aggregate rate of the bonding interface. 30days, 60days and 90days deferred L/C is also acceptable, the deferred …
Metallurgical slag is divided into several types: blast-furnace, steel and ferroalloy. Blast furnace slag is the most popular in Ukraine: it is a byproduct of pig iron smelting in a blast furnace. This is a valuable raw material that is actively used in the cement industry. "These slags have some specific properties.
Slag cement is a hydraulic cement formed when granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS) is ground to suitable fineness and is used to replace a portion of portland cement. It is a recovered industrial by-product of an iron blast furnace. Molten slag diverted from the iron blast furnace is rapidly chilled, producing glassy granules that yield ...

Blast furnace steel scrap with metal content of at least 90%. Slagging is about 10%. Alloy of iron and carbon in which the carbon content ranges up to 2 percent. It is made by reducing iron ore in a blast furnace. The pieces of Steel Scrap can be separated into following sizes: 10-100 mm, 100-300 mm, 300-1500 mm and 1500 mm and larger.

Granulated Blast Furnace Slag. Granulated blast furnace slag is a glassy granular material that varies, depending on the chemical composition and method of production, from a coarse, popcornlike friable structure greater than 4.75 mm (No. 4 sieve) in diameter to dense, sand-size grains passing a 4.75 mm (No. 4) sieve.
Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GBFS) is one of the waste material groups obtained from various metallurgy plants. In production of raw iron, blast furnace slag remains above raw iron due to having less weight and iron ore gangue is composed at a temperature between 1,400 to 1,600 °C after burning of coke and limestone.
The number of granulation plants for blast furnace slag has grown strongly. Since around 2000, the most important Chinese steel producers have been investing in granulation and grinding plants for blast furnace slag. It is currently estimated that 95 % of the blast furnace slag is granulated and used entirely in the cement and concrete industry.
To reduce CO2 emissions, cement manufacturers are increasingly developing alternatives to traditional clinker development: These include 1) clinker replacement by ground granulated blast–furnace slag and fly ash, and 2) the importation of clinker from foreign countries, (José Marcos Ortega, et. al., October 2017).
