Platinum Group Metals owns and operates five mining operations in South Africa's Bushveld complex, Mogalakwena, Amandelbult and Mototolo, as well as the Unki mine, in Zimbabwe. The Mototolo – Der Brochen Complex, is an important part of Anglo American's PGMs portfolio, located in the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex, South Africa.

The first 10 000-litre 2.6 MW IsaMill was jointly developed by Anglo Platinum, Xstrata Technology and Netszch for installation at the Western Limb Tailings Re-treatment project in Rustenburg, South Africa. The unit was commissioned in late 2003/early 2004, and has operated in an intermediate concentrate regrind application successfully since.
